Yemassee and Ridgeland SC
While staying in Yemassee SC in June 2022, we did some exploring.
In Yemassee, we visited the Carolina Cider Company, saw some ancient and historic churches, the historic Yemassee Amtrak station and had lunch at Fletcher’s Cafe. We also drove by the Auldbrass Plantation (designed by Frank Loyd Wright). It was closed so we could only see it through the trees.
Carolina Cider Company
Lunch at Fletcher’s Cafe
Very yummy. Had Carolina Crisps for the first time and a dish called “the hog” (pulled pork or chicken on top of either cornbread or mac and cheese). We chose pork and mac and cheese.
We wanted to visit the Luck Duck Distillery but it was closed.
The historic Yemassee Amtrak station, still running today.
Historic Churches
Ebenezer Methodist Church and Prince William’s Parish Church (Sheldon Church) built in 1751-57
Piggly Wiggly!
Crossed off our bucket list! We just had to some day visit a Piggly Wiggly and now we did! Not a real great grocery store, ha ha, but anyway, been there done that now, so that’s something.
