Ortona Lock Campground, Moore Haven Florida

We stayed at this Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) campground from April 3-15, 2022. A very beautiful campground right at the lock on the Caloosahatchee River. The spaces are huge. Some of them are right on the river, but I booked too late to get one of those. But it was a beautiful spot! Even though there isn’t much to do in the area, the campground and the lock make it worth the stay.

We only had water and electric so we were careful with the water. I did some dishes at the spigot outside. We dumped once in the middle of our 13 day stay and it worked out perfectly. We would definitely stay there again!

While visiting Moore Haven, we ate at a very good Mexican restaurant (Haven Fresh). It was in a grocery store! So good, we went back another time. And while visiting nearby Clewiston, we ate at another very good Mexican restaurant (Jalapenos)
