Must Have RV Kitchen Items
The following is a list of my must have items for my RV kitchen:
- With the Instant Pot, I can:
- Pressure cook – Roast, casseroles, enchiladas, ribs, soup/stew, meat loaf, shepherd’s pie, baked potatoes, lasagna, stuffed peppers, meatballs and marinara, chili, and more.
- Bake – cakes, cheesecakes, bread, sweet breads, muffins, cornbread, and more
- Roast – anything I want to roast (pork, ribs, beef, chicken)
- Dehydrate
- Slow Cook – like a crock-pot
- Cook rice – rice cooker
- Steam
- Saute – sauté and boil anything I would normally sauté or boil on the stove
- Air Fry – taquitos, fried chicken, French fries, potato and tortilla chips, cookies!, pigs in a blanket, pizza, ribs, steak, and more.
- Must have Instant Pot accessories:
- Extra 8 quart pot – I have a non-stick pot along with the stainless steel pot that came with it. This non-stick pot is awesome for sautéing and boiling.
- Steamer baskets – I love my steamer baskets for baked potatoes.
- Silicone lid – for the 8 quart pot.
- Stackable steamer pans – I use these, not only for steaming but for baking.
- Springform pan – for cakes, cheesecake, bread, sweetbreads, etc.
- Electric griddle -I have a Presto 07073 19″ Electric Tilt-N-fold Griddle electric griddle for my grilling and pan frying. Between the Instant Pot and the griddle, I pretty much never need to use the stove or oven ever, which saves hugely on propane.
On the griddle – I cook eggs any way, fried, scrambled, omelet (we bought some silicone rings that are awesome for fried eggs), pancakes, tortillas, fish, pollo asada, carne asada, sausage, bacon, pork chops, steak (and then finish in the air fryer), and more. And also use it sometimes to sauté things like veggies, kielbasa, and other things. I even made griddle cookies on it! - Ice-maker – We have a Dometic portable ice-maker. We love our ice-maker! It makes ice fast and easy so we always have ice and don’t have to buy big bags of ice with no room to put in the RV freezer.
- Blender – I went back and forth about whether I wanted to bring my blender. I am doing my best to limit what I bring to only must-haves to save space. But I decided to bring mine. I guess I decided my milk shakes, Frappuccinos and smoothies are a must have! I have a Blendtec blender. It is the best blender I have ever had. I won’t buy the inexpensive ones ever again. The Blendtec is the only one that has done ice and frozen fruit without leaving chunks and I rarely have to stir in the middle of blending.
- Keurig – coffee maker. Gotta have it! I drink at least 2 cups a day and many time 3 or more.
- Toaster – of course.
