Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach, Florida, May 27, June 1 and June 3, 2022

We went to Daytona a few times while we were staying in Flagler Beach.

on the way to Daytone Beach we explored Ormond Beach and saw the Birthplace of Speed. It’s on the beach where racing started.

On May 27th we went to the Tanger Outlets and drove by Daytona International Speedway with plans to go back another day. It was raining when we went. We stopped by Best Buy and on our way to the car, we got completely soaked from the downpour! And we were parked close! We were laughing all the way to the car while we were getting soaked.

On June 1st we went and walked on the pier and the boardwalk, did some shopping and had lunch at Sloppy Joes.

On another day, we drove over the Granada Bridge and we went down to the Riverfront Shops on Beach Street and got a tour of Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory and bought lots of chocolate! And drove by the Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

At one spot on the boardwalk where the shops were, there was this memorial.

Lunch at Sloppy Joes. Great view of the beach and the ocean and great food. Of course I (Lanette) had to get a sloppy joe at Sloppy Joes!

Once we were done on the boardwalk, we drove by the Jackie Robinson Memorial Baseball Park and then went to the riverfront shopping strip on Beach St. We went to Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory and toured the factory and bought some chocolate, of course!

Next stop, Daytona International Speedway. We took some good pictures outside and made definite plans to go back for the guided tour.
