The Highline NYC July 2023

The Highline is a 1.45 mile long park/walkway that was built on an old railway. It is above the ground so the whole way you are overlooking the city. It is in south NYC and runs from the far East to the far West. That southern tip of NYC is that narrow.

My son, Critter, and I (Lanette) walked the whole distance! It was awesome. Here are pictures from along the walk.

That sign on the side of the building, This book belongs to…, commemorates the approximately thirty thousand books from Palestinian homes, libraries, and institutions that were looted by Israeli authorities in 1948.

The Vessel is an observation walkway, stairway, tower that was opened for a while. It’s closed now because many people climbed the stairs and committed suicide by jumping off. There is no idea whether they will do renovations and reopen it or not.
