An authentic Amish restaurant. You can either order from a menu or get the buffet. We got the buffet! While we have been exploring Amish country, we have been attempting to eat all of the recommended Amish foods. So we knocked off some more of them here at this restaurant.
Ham balls, baked sausage that tasted like spam, baked Lima beans, butter noodles (I get these at every Amish restaurant!), meat loaf, stewed tomatoes. The Amish stew their tomatoes with some brown sugar for a sweet flavor.Jerry’s selectionsShoo fly pie (I’ve been trying this everywhere to find the best. This was good but the best was from Bird in Hand Bakery. They make a wet bottom, light syrup recipe. The best! Also here is orange fluff. So yummy! Exactly like my mom made except hers was lime. This one is mandarin orange.This is PA Dutch hot salad dressing. The waitress warns you not to think that it’s soup. It is kept over by the soups to stay warm, but it is not soup. It looks just like soup. It has bacon in it. But when you taste it, it has a sweet flavor like a dressing. I’ve never put hot dressing on a salad before, and I didn’t hear either. I didn’t even get salad. Who has room for salad when you’re eating all of this yummy Amish food. But I got some to taste it because I was curious. It’s a good dressing. Potato soup .
